introductoryAWords The Faculty of Economics was founded on March 3, 1946 by a decree of the Slovene Government. It performed its activities in the premises in 27, Gregorčičeva Street. In the first year 334 students enrolled to the Faculty, and the learning process began with one Full Professor, one Lecturer, one Assistant Professor and nine part-time Lecturers. contents: Faculty of Economics Today International Connections Organization Units of Faculty of Economics 4 a Undergraduate Study The number of enrolled students gradually decreased up to the academic year of 1954/55. In that year only 248 students enrolled. Since 1954/55 the number of enrolled students has been increasing so that, since the academic year 1990/91, the enrollment in the first year has been limited to 850 full-time students. Each year there are also about 1000 part-time students who enroll in the first study year at the study centres in Ljubljana and elsewhere in Slovenia. The Faculty began with its study process at the present location in autumn 1976. Graduate Study Doctoral Study Staff A, The students are trained at the Faculty to manage companies efficiently, to manage individual business organizational fields, or to: carry out research work and perform analytical tasks. This is guaranteed by a vast fund of theoretical, methodological and applicative know-how. The fundamental purpose of the study is to develop the graduates' leading (managerial) skills or the skills needed to perform highly professional work attuned to the national economy. Completed undergraduate study enables graduates to continue their education at the graduate level (Specialization and Master's Degree) to Doctor of Philosophy Degree. In parallel with its pedagogical work the Faculty has been developing its scientific and research activities in the fundamental and applicative fields of Economics and Business Organization.
